John has been a principal and partner of Consolidated Affiliates for over 10 years. After graduating from Law School in 1980, he practiced law in a New Jersey Law Firm until 1984 when he was hired by a 278 store, national sporting goods retail chain, where he rose to the rank of Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel. In 1998, John became Vice President and General Counsel for a large, metropolitan New York, consumer electronics retail chain, with over $700 million in annual revenue.
During his 18 year retail career, John negotiated and prepared hundreds of store, office and warehouse leases, numerous corporate contracts and collective bargaining agreements, advised the Board of Directors in all legal matters affecting the company, and managed outside counsel in asset acquisitions and dispositions, corporate bankruptcies and in all litigation.
John joined Consolidated in 2002, bringing seasoned retail, real estate and legal expertise to the Company. He is responsible for the coordination of the legal aspects of the due diligence, consulting and asset management/repositioning practices and handles all legal matters for the Company. In the past 10 years, John has managed the due diligence and worked with counsel in the acquisition of several retail chains for clients, as well as in the disposition of surplus assets. He has also handled all legal matters for the Company’s retail shopping center re-positionings as asset manager for major lending institutions and has assisted in the consummation of numerous brokerage deals for the sale or leasing of real estate.
John has been a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers for over 10 years, holds a real estate license in the State of New Jersey, and has been a member of the New Jersey Bar since 1980. He is a 1977 graduate of Villanova University and obtained his law degree from the Seton Hall University School of Law.
John resides with his family in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
